Celebrate International Women's Day with the GFW Inc. Women's Network!

International Women's Day (IWD) is a global celebration in March around the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. 

Join us this year for an inspiring presentation celebrating the remarkable journey of Flora Barrón, a local leader whose career path spans from education to multi-passionate entrepreneurship. This event will explore how Flora identified and applied her talents, navigated obstacles, and transformed challenges into lasting impact. In alignment with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, #GivetoGain, attendees will discover how generosity and collaboration can unlock growth and positive change within a community. 

Whether you're an aspiring entrepreneur, a seasoned professional, or simply seeking motivation from trailblazing women in a supportive environment, this event will provide valuable perspectives, meaningful connections, and opportunities to expand your network. 

Our event will also include a dance performance by Folklor De Mi Tierra and a donation collection on site for YWCA of Northeast Indiana to help meet essential daily needs. The YWCA provides critical support and safe spaces for women and families in our community. Suggested items include new bath towels (body, face, and hand), shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, and lotion. All items must be new and unopened. Your generosity will help provide comfort, dignity, and care to those they serve. Thank you for your consideration!

Meet Our Speaker: Flora Barrón

I am an entrepreneur, consultant, and educator passionate about helping others build and grow successful businesses. With 18 years of experience as a public school teacher and several more as a business owner, I understand both how to teach effectively and how to navigate the challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship.

Over the years, I’ve owned and operated multiple ventures—including a coffee shop, a food truck, and a catering company—gaining hands-on experience in leadership, operations, and customer service. My mission is to empower new and growing entrepreneurs through hands-on workshops, customized business curricula, and practical advice rooted in real-world experience.

In 2023, I was honored to be recognized as Agent of Change — Corporate Division Winner and named Business Woman of the Year by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, acknowledgments that reflect my commitment to fostering growth, inclusion, and opportunity in my community.

Whether I’m developing training programs, coaching individuals, or building my own brands, I focus on creating opportunities, solving problems, and equipping others to thrive. I love connecting with others who share a vision for growth, creativity, and impact.
