Join us for a Ribbon Cutting to commemorate the new planetarium at Science Central!
Science Central Opens Public Planetarium
Science Central will celebrate the opening of Northeast Indiana’s only public planetarium on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. The event includes a press conference, ribbon-cutting, and a short planetarium tour. Regular admission will apply after 11:30 a.m.
The 1,830‑sq‑ft planetarium features a 21‑ft-high, 28‑ft-wide dome, seating for 50 guests, a starball donated by the University of Saint Francis, and a Digistar digital projection system for stunning cosmic views.
Daytime demonstrations start Thursday, March 26 (times subject to change), with night shows starting April 3. The $2.8 million project reflects years of planning and renovations, bringing accessible STEAM experiences to the community.
