Join us for the Funniest Fundraiser in the Fort! Laughs for Literacy! is a night of stand-up comedy, good food, and great company—all in support of The Literacy Alliance's free education programs.

Why This Event Is So Important This Year
Adult education is at a crossroads. Right now, thousands of our neighbors are working hard to build a better life—but they can't do it alone. More than 55,000 adults in northeast Indiana lack a high school diploma or struggle with limited English proficiency. These barriers make it harder to find stable jobs, support families, or fully participate in the community.

At The Literacy Alliance, we know that education changes everything. Earning a high school equivalency diploma increases income by nearly $9,000 a year on average, boosts job opportunities, and builds confidence. Our free programs help adults develop essential reading, writing, math, and English language skills—and we've seen firsthand how those skills transform lives. Students not only achieve personal goals, but also become powerful role models for their children, helping to break the cycle of generational poverty.

But this year, the need is growing—and the funding is shrinking. Delays at the federal level and cuts at the state level are putting programs like ours at risk. At the same time, more people than ever are turning to us for help. That's why Laughs for Literacy! matters now more than ever. This is our largest fundraiser of the year, and the money we raise directly supports the students who rely on us. Without events like this, we can't continue to meet the growing demand for free, high-quality instruction.

The Comedy Lineup

Featuring Angel Gaines
Angel Gaines brings warmth, wit, and wild hilarity to the stage with a style that's both bold and clean. Her career took off after a college talent show mishap turned into comedy gold, and she hasn't stopped since. Angel has performed internationally and shared the stage with comedy legends like Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall, and George Wallace. You may have seen her on Dry Bar Comedy or hyping up live studio audiences for Disney's Raven's Home. Whether she's headlining clubs, entertaining on cruise ships, or hosting events, Angel's unique blend of humor and heart leaves audiences uplifted and laughing out loud.

With Zach Wycuff
Zach Wycuff is a nationally touring comedian whose mix of quick wit and heartfelt storytelling wins over crowds wherever he goes. Twice named the Funniest Person in Cincinnati and a winner in Columbus as well, Zach has performed at top festivals like Limestone, SF Sketchfest, and Flyover. His debut special with Dry Bar Comedy showcases his talent for turning everyday moments into unforgettable laughs. A former member of a touring family band (yes, really), Zach draws on his quirky past to connect with audiences in a way that's both funny and endearing. Most recently, he recorded with Nate Bargatze's Nateland Entertainment and continues to bring his lovable, dorky charm to stages nationwide.
