Excavation Competent Person Course

Join the Building Contractors Association of Northeast Indiana (BCA) for a full‑day training designed to meet the educational requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart P for Excavation & Trenching Competent Persons. 

Course Objectives:

• Provide an understanding of the responsibilities of a competent person for excavation
• Provide a system and approach for workplace inspection and planning for excavations
• Provide an understanding of the hazards involved with trenching and excavations
• Provide the differences between a trench and an excavation
• Hands-on training in excavation evaluation and hazard prevention
• Through classroom testing, ensure comprehension of the provided materials on excavations and trenches
