Event Description:

Have you ever wondered how Project Managers seem to do it all? Are you looking to improve your meeting effectiveness to better lead projects and people? Do you want to master the art of delivering "bad news" before it becomes worse? Join us for this informative and interactive workshop, where participants will explore successful communication tactics and leverage core skills that are transferrable across business and life in general.

Topics that will be covered include:

  • How Project Managers use "guardrails" to plan and manage work so that you can apply similar concepts to your own professional and/or personal life
  • Conquering the essentials that could mean the difference between a message that is well-received or potentially not received at all
  • Understanding how to identify, plan for, and mitigate risks and issues in your professional/personal world
  • Dealing with risks, issues, and bad news using the inner workings of a Project Manager's approach to them all

Meet Our Speaker: Mike Filson, PMI-ACP, PMP, PSM I
Mike has spent the last 20 years as a practitioner in management, training & development, and project / program management. He is currently a Senior Director and Senior Project Manager with Bulldog Consulting Services where he also leads the Corporate Training services arm of the organization. He has led and managed teams and immersed himself in every aspect of project delivery including traditional, Agile, and every method in between. He holds multiple certifications from various organizations but considers himself a "permanent student" when it comes to the tools, technologies, and approaches for leading projects and people. Mike maintains a "servant leadership" mentality on all assignments and believes that people are the "hidden secret" to success in project management and other aspects of life.
