The University of Saint Francis, Keith Busse School of Business & Entrepreneurial Leadership located at the Downtown Campus is revitalizing the Family Business Initiative to support Family Businesses throughout Northeast Indiana. The Vision of the Family Business Initiative is to be a resource to support and grow Family Businesses throughout the Northeast Indiana Region. The goals of the Initiative is to provide value through resources, including information, training and professional advice to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of a Family Business.
Identifying and managing the unique characteristics associated with a Family Business can lead to generation after generation of organizational success. The Family Business Initiative will be a place where ideas and information can be shared through collaboration and professional instruction. From this association the Initiative will provide best practices through seminars, peer groups and training classes.
With a strong network of Family Businesses throughout the region, and an Initiative to coordinate and share ideas, Northeast Indiana will become stronger through job retention and job creation as well as wealth creation. It will take some time to fully develop the vision, but through a coordinated effort and support the Initiative will become stronger over the coming years.
To kick off this effort, Doug Kinder, President of Michael Kinder & Sons will be our guest speaker and share the lessons learned in building a family business, as well as some things if done differently would have greatly benefited the organization.
During our initial meeting we are seeking your input and discussion to design next steps. We look forward to your attendance and providing your thoughts and ideas to shape our future programs and how they can create the greatest value. To facilitate the maximum input, there is no charge for this first meeting.
Our first meeting will be September 12, 2017, at 7:30 AM at the University of Saint Francis, Keith Busse School of Business in The Historic Woman’s Club located at 826 Ewing Street, third floor. Breakfast will be served starting at 7:30 AM with the program beginning at 8:00 AM. We will end by 9:15 AM.
