Since 1975, the Women's Bureau has served as a unique voice advocating for women's issues and providing services for women and their families; sometimes in collaboration with other agencies and sometimes as the sole agency filling an unmet need in the community. The Women's Bureau currently has three programs that can help local women: Transitions is a treatment program for pregnant women and women with children (through age 5) that rebuilds families by helping women maintain a life of recovery from drug and alcohol addiciton. REACT is a program that strives to relieve the trauma of sexual assault through crisis intervention and counseling, and seeks to prevent assault through educaiton and skill-building. Dress for Success is the newest program that promotes the economic independence of women by providing professional attire and career development tools to help women thrive in the workplace.
The Women's Bureau is located on Fairfield Avenue just south of Creighton Avenue.
