Name: NALC's "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive
Date: May 11, 2019
Event Description:
Saturday, May 11th, 2019 marks the 27th anniversary of one of America's greatest days of giving, the National Association of Letter Carriers "Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive. Each year, letter carriers across the country collect non-perishable food donations from residents. These donations go directly to local food pantries, like ours, and provide an enormous amount of food for local community members in need. Participate by leaving a non-perishable food donation in a bag near your mailbox on Saturday, May 11th and your letter carrier will do the rest. "Feeding the hungry is a command made repeatedly in scripture, and at Associated Churches we take that command seriously. While distributing close to 1.5 million meals can be difficult, it is made possible through organizations such as the National Association of Letter Carriers' and the many volunteers who make an event like the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive a success," says Roger Reece, Executive Pastor.
